The big day we plan...

So most people know we've been planning this big day. Originally, being the laid back couple that we are, we were going to have a small wedding. Nothing fancy, cheap, etc.
Plans changed. We are now having a "grand weekend wedding"! Before the rehearsal on July 11th, we have asked our closest friends and family to help us and join us with decorating this massive new cafeteria (pictured on the left) at our reception venue. After the rehearsal at the church, friends and family will be invited to a rehearsal party here, where we can celebrate what's happening the next day, have a meet and greet, and continue setting up.
The ceremony starts at 4:30 on July 12th. Afterwards, guests are invited to the dinner/dance reception which I am very excited about. Max's sisters, Chris & Gigi are our MCs (I know they will be hilarious.) We've left them in charge for the most part.

We were looking to do something different for our reception. Something that represents who we are. (And the musician that Max is) We knew hiring a DJ was out of the question (fear of terrible music!). Having a fiance as a sound engineer has it's benefits. One of them being able to get into plenty of events and concerts for free. Max's second job, working for Signature Sound has given him lots of great opportunities and his boss there is the lead guitarist for an incredible local 5 piece band, Flat Top. (pictured to the left), and we have been SO lucky in booking them for our reception dance.
(Get a sneak peak of their album at their website)
We've got more surprises up our sleeves but let's try to keep some things a secret. (The band will be a given the minute the guests walk in the door.)
Another thing we are looking forward to is Max's parents, Cecile & Norm are hosting a brunch the next day for our closest friends and family members at their house.
So if this blog is any indication... we will be starting off the new chapter of our lives with a BANG!

Planning, working, running, walking, chilling...

I am guilty. Guilty of creating this account and never using it. Like many of the other accounts we create; classmates, myspace, facebook, & more. Facebook being the only one I pay attention to. However I think this is quite neat, but I'm not sure I have enough news to talk about to update this on a regular basis.

I completed my Bachelor of Arts in December, and I must admit that even though I am happy, I am also sad & confused. Going into university, you would think after coming out spending $20,000 I would have a clue about what I want to do with it. Not really. I keep thinking that maybe once Max has completed his degree, I will go back and take photography or multimedia.

Speaking of Mr. Max. Wedding plans are very much underway. We would be lying if we said we weren't excited. We have so much in store... surprises! I can't talk about the surprises though, because I've already told too many people. For two people who said they didn't want a big wedding, we seem to be planning something huge. A weekend party!

However, I am nervous. I am convinced I will have to walk a mile before I get to Max at the church.

Max's sister, Christiane, her hubby Jean-Michel, and their cutie pie baby, Louis-Pascal moved back from Saskatoon at the end of the summer. We've been enjoying it! Chris and I had been going walking at the track a few nights a week. We've got a new plan which started tuesday.... go running, jogging, working out every monday to thursday. The first night was great. Today I'm feeling it though. I'll make it through. Just using muscles I'm not use to using during the winter.

Here's a picture of LP and uncle Max playing piano a couple weeks ago. Louis - Pascal is our first nephew!
Until next time...
