Tache

Tache is my brother & sister in laws dog - JM helped me catch Tache's attention last week after taking the kids photos. Tache was Chris & JM's first "kid", before LP, and now there will be a 3rd any day now. But I think Tache got a good deal out of it - she stays very close to LP when he is eating in his high chair.

Deer in my Grandparents Back Yard

My grandparents have lived in the same house forever, and for as long as I can remember, they get anywheres from 5-25 deer in their backyard at this time of the year. On Christmas Day, there happened to be three having a bite to eat while I was there. They get very close to the house and my grandfather can walk out to see them, as long as he dresses the same.... they trust him. It's quite amazing.

Photography Course - NBCCD Day 1

Christiane, my sister-in-law sent me an information package for NBCCD's night classes a few months back. I immediately signed up for the Intermediate Digital Photography course. Last night was night one. The course runs for 7 weeks, 1 night a week for 3 hours for $190 with a $50 discount on the next course. How could I pass up that deal?

It's going to be quite interesting. I learnt a lot already. There's 14 of us, all with different DSLRs, Sony, Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and even Minolta. I'm looking forward to what the next 6 weeks offers.

Over the weekend, Max's cousin Marc was in town with his girls - and although I am always thinking about my wish list for my camera, which includes a battery grip, a lighting & backdrop kit, lenses, the list goes on and on. I usually try to hold off as long as possible, so that I'm not spending a lot of money at a time. Marc has recently purchased a Nikon D90 and a 50mm prime lens - while he used his lens, I used my 18-55mm lens & external flash which I love and the results do not disappoint me. However, you can't always use your flash, espacially when you take a lot of indoor pictures at concert events, so I gave in and ordered the below lens today... now I sit and wait for 2-3 weeks for it's arrival.

Kevin & Maxime's last 5 a 7 at James Joyce

Kevin & Maxime most likely played their last 5 a 7 Friday night at James Joyce as a guitar-du0, with special guest Mike Cameron. The two have been playing at James Joyce for over 2 years now, which will soon come to an end as Kevin finishes school and moves away.

One really neat feature built into my camera (Pentax K20D) is that it's able to duplicate the image to black & white however you have the choice of selecting one of 6 colors to stand out.

In this picture I used Jessy's jeans.

A little while before Christmas I had a "first time opportunity" to take pictures with a black back drop of my nephew Louis Pascal and his sweet cousins Gabe, Chloe, and Zach. The kids were great (and I think they had fun).

 This session was hopefully the start of something...
